Tours of Sandbox
Come check out our school with your child! This visit is a good time to get answers to any questions you have, and to decide if Sandbox is a good fit for your child and family. A tour is the first step in our application process and required in order to join our Interest List. We ask that you bring your child with you to your tour.
We accept both private pay families and families with DSHS or SPIPA Subsidy.
Monthly Tuition
Application Process
We open applications each Spring for the following September-August school year. We occasionally have openings during the school year, but most children start in September of each year. Here are the steps to apply:

1. Attend a Tour with your Child. A tour is the first step in our application process and required in order to join our
Interest List.

2. Fill Out Application. Each spring we send out the application to our Interest List. This Application is for the following school year (September-August). You will be notified on the posted Notification Date if your child has a spot for the upcoming school year, or if they will be on the Wait List for the upcoming school year.

3. Enrollment. Once you have been notified that a space is available, we will confirm that you wish to accept the spot, and you will be charged a $50 Registration Fee to hold your space.

4. Orientation. Once you have accepted your spot and paid the Registration Fee, we will reach out to you to schedule an Orientation. For Families starting in September, we usually hold these meetings over the summer months.

Elderberry Club Enrollment
Elderberry Club is our after-school program for school-age kids. Elderberry Club Enrollment does not currently go through the same process as our other programs. If you are interested in this program, please check out the information on the Elderberry Club page, and contact us!
Wait List
We receive many applications each year, and as a small school, we have limited spots available. Spaces are filled based on many factors including, but not limited to: schedule requested, age of child, family support of our play-based and child-centered philosophy, and our goal of serving a diverse community. If, after submitting your application, you are notified that your child is on the wait list for the upcoming year, we cannot guarantee a spot will open up. We sometimes unexpectedly have space available throughout the year and you will be contacted if we can offer you a spot.
